Community Rehab Project is a non profit faith based organization that exemplifies the love of Jesus Christ by putting faith into action through home exterior improvements of qualified homeowners in Comanche County, Texas. Each year in June the Community Rehab Project brings volunteers together from across the state to make home improvements to include fresh paint, new roofs, windows or anything else needed on the outside of the house.
Community Rehab Project began in 2000 with one home and thirty six volunteers. Over the next several years the project grew and in 2004 expanded from within the city of Comanche to nearby communities of Gustine and De Leon to encompass the entire county of Comanche. In 2007 the Community Rehab Project was blessed with the opportunity to complete its 100th home. The Community Rehab Project welcomed over 350 volunteers in 2010 who faithfully contributed to the success of another year with the project completing its 161st house since its inception in 2000.
Community Rehab Project welcomes churches to bring their group of 7th grade youth and up to participate in the project. Community Rehab Project 2011 will take place June 12-17.
